Student Hardship
"The student hardship fund played a crucial role in getting me through the end of undergraduate and the beginning of postgraduate studies when I was in College myself. Twenty plus years later, it really was time I thought about giving some of that back."
Amanda Piesse, TTTTS 2009 Runner & Fundraiser
Trinity Access Programmes
“The TAP Foundation Course has sent my life in a new direction, it has created opportunities that otherwise just wouldn't exist. I really want to help make this happen for other people by helping out with TTTTS.”
Robert Donohoe, Communications Officer SU 2009/10
"I’d been involved with the Trinity Access Programmes (TAP) previously and the idea of doing something to help TAP students really appealed."
Mark Pollock, TTTTS 2009 Runner & Fundraiser
"When I began Secondary School my main aim was to get my Leaving Certificate, get out of School and get a job. However, with the great encouragement from my teachers and the help of the access programme activities, I subsequently changed my mind. I think that the turning point for me came when I ‘shadowed’ a student in Trinity for a day. I got a real feel for what college life is like, and I have to say, I really liked it. In addition my involvement in the TAP initiatives and going to Open Days helped me in this regard as well."

"We feel privileged to have had the experience of attending Trinity and have benefited enormously from gaining our third level education there. We also feel an obligation to give back to the college. By getting involved with TTTTS and raising funds for Trinity Access Programmes, we hope that other students will reap the same benefits as we have."
Grainne Dooley, TTTTS 2009 Supporter
"Medicine is one of the most demanding courses in University and Medicine in Trinity is even more demanding than other colleges. The past 8/9 months have been very challenging but I take a moment to remind myself why I am doing this course and I tell myself that if others can do it so can. That has become my new motto. I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Dooleys and to TAP for making it possible for me to be studying the course of my dreams."
Monica Oikeh, JF Med 2009/2010
"The Student Hardship Fund intervened on behalf of an undergraduate who faced a most difficult situation. Her mother sadly died and she was the legal guardian of three younger siblings. The student, in her 2nd year, was trying to travel from Lucan every day while minding the younger family and while neighbours did rally around she had no money for basics like bus tickets and food. The Student Hardship Fund allowed her stay on the course, support her younger siblings and complete her year without financial worry".
